Tare Button

The Tare button in the upper-right corner of the Measure page can be used to subtract the value of a mounted adapter or target racquet. To set the tare value, take a measurement that you would like to become the new zero, and tap the Tare button. The button will display filled to indicate that it is active, and the last measurement value will change to zero. Subsequent measurements will be displayed with the tare value subratracted. Tap the Tare button again to clear it.

Measurements shown in the Measurement Groups section will reflect the tare value when the measurement was taken. Prior measurements will not be affected.

The tare value will persist when the app is restarted. It is stored by device, so if you use more than one SW1, it will only affect the selected device.

The tare function should NOT be used to zero the machine. Small errors in calibration (both the calibration values and calibration measurments) and slight nonlinearity in the measurment process will result in a measurment of the empty cradle that is not exactly zero. If the tare function is used to make this zero, accuracy away from zero will be worse.
