Using NFC

The decal on the front of the SW1 covers an NFC tag that is used to add the SW1 to the app.

With an iPhone XS or later, the NFC tag can also be used to open the app. Hold the top of your iPhone near the decal, and a notification will appear. Tap the notification to open the app. If you use more than one SW1, the scanned device will be automatically selected.
